Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley Service Projects

Zonta's International Legislative Awareness and Advocacy and United Nations Committees, in particular, engage in advocacy action at the international level and alert members to opportunities for advocacy at the district and club levels.

Advocacy, either directly or through our Service and Award Programs, takes account of:

Zonta's Objects of 'improving the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women' (ZI Object (a)) and 'to promote justice and universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms' (ZI Object (c));

These aims align with the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) Articles 1-16. Zonta International is currently the only women's international non- governmental organization (NGO) which focuses solely on Articles 1-16;
