Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley Domestic Violence Court Advocacy
The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley has joined forces with the two local Soroptimist Clubs to develop a Domestic Violence Court Advocacy program. Local volunteers are trained to serve as advocates for victims when they attend Santa Clarita Court House.
This program is the direct result of the local presiding Judge sharing that our court house did not have such a program and that the need was great. Trained volunteers are present at the court house, 3 days a week,and are available to advocate for victims as needed. Victims can access the program via the web or by phone. Some members have taken additional training and work as Advocates to the SC- Domestic Violence Center clients.
