Connie Worden-Roberts
During the 1970’s, Connie Worden-Roberts was one of several influential women who joined Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley. In 1975, she was honored as Santa Clarita Valley’s “Woman of the Year”. For the next several decades, she continued to be active in public service. Connie served on the Board of the then-named Newhall-Saugus-Valencia Chamber of Commerce. She was also a member of many community organizations.
Connie was a vital force in the formation of the City of Santa Clarita. She was also the Founder of the Valley Industry Association and former Chairwoman of the Board and Director of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Connie was known as the "Road Warrior". Connie was passionate about making sure that the "Cross Valley Connector" would be built to relieve traffic at the "Bouquet Junction". The Golden Valley Road Bridge over State Highway Route 14 in the City of Santa Clarita was renamed the “Connie Worden-Roberts Memorial Bridge” which memorializes Connie’s legacy in Santa Clarita Valley.
